San Diego's haunted history isn't only in Old Town. Downtown was once the Stingaree, the city's red-light district of gambling halls, brothels and bought-off cops, and its buildings still carry the stories. Our 90-minute ghost and true crime walk starts at the Broadway Fountain in Horton Plaza Historic Park and visits Room 309 at the Horton Grand Hotel, the Balboa Theatre and the Davis-Horton House, downtown's oldest building. Each stop starts with documented history, then the ghost lore attached to it, and your guide tells you which is which. Small groups, no minimum age, wheelchair accessible, rain or shine. Private ghost tours are available for bachelorettes, birthdays, team nights and conference groups.
